Bible word John 1.43-51

The next day Jesus decided to leave for Galilee. Finding Philip, he said to him, Follow me. Philip, like Andrew and Peter, was from the town of Bethsaida. Philip found Nathanael and told him, We have found the one Moses wrote about in the Law, and about whom the prophets also wrote- Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph. Nazareth! Can anything good come from there? Nathanael asked. Come and see, said Philip. When Jesus saw Nathanael approaching, he said of him, Here is a true Israelite, in whom there is nothing false. How do you know me? Nathanael asked. Jesus answered, I saw you while you were still under the fig-tree before Philip called you. Then Nathanael declared, Rabbi, you are the Son of God; you are the King of Israel. Jesus said, You believe because I told you I saw you under the fig-tree. You shall see greater things than that. He then added, I tell you the truth, you shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man.

Reflection:

My dear brothers and sisters in Christ,
first of all I wish you a happy new year with much blessing.
We can be thankful to God, much blessing Jesus gave us the last year and he is ready to give us a large amount blessing by this year too. Today’s bible words may help our life: “come and see”. It means come near to Jesus and see his glory, here two words “come” “see”. These two words will be a key for our spiritual life. Come near to Jesus, it is our prayer and good deeds for others. Jesus is always inviting us to come, it is the greatest invitation, and we can also invite Jesus to come to my life and see my life. When Jesus comes to our life he will make deep renovation in our life, then it will be more fruitful in our life.

Bible word Mark  2.1-12

A few days later, when Jesus again entered Capernaum, the people heard that he had come home. So many gathered that there was no room left, not even outside the door, and he preached the word to them. Some men came, bringing to him a paralytic, carried by four of them. Since they could not get him to Jesus because of the crowd, they made an opening in the roof above Jesus and, after digging through it, lowered the mat the paralysed man was lying on. When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, Son, your sins are forgiven. Now some teachers of the law were sitting there, thinking to themselves, Why does this fellow talk like that? He's blaspheming! Who can forgive sins but God alone? Immediately Jesus knew in his spirit that this was what they were thinking in their hearts, and he said to them, Why are you thinking these things? Which is easier: to say to the paralytic, 'Your sins are forgiven,' or to say, 'Get up, take your mat and walk'? But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins . . . . He said to the paralytic, I tell you, get up, take your mat and go home. He got up, took his mat and walked out in full view of them all. This amazed everyone and they praised God, saying, We have never seen anything like this!

Reflection:

The paralytic man was very happy because in his life he experienced the wonderful healing power of Jesus. Many people helped him to bring him near to Jesus. Jesus gave the healing and forgiveness of his sins, too. To look at this bible words we can understand Jesus mercy and compassionate love. The people took the paralytic near to Jesus; he did not only receive healing, but great experience of forgiveness of the sins. So to come near to Jesus, is the only solution for our life. A few days before in my house a Pilipino couple came for sharing their God experience. The husband told me in his life he encountered Jesus in an accident. He went for swimming then he had an accident and he saw Jesus near to him. His wife told me she will make one hour adoration every day. All solution she gets from the Blessed Sacrament. Jesus is the son of living God, he is very much alive.

Wish you a very good prayer meeting.

Bible word John 2.1-11

On the third day a wedding took place at Cana in Galilee. Jesus' mother was there, and Jesus and his disciples had also been invited to the wedding. When the wine was gone, Jesus' mother said to him, They have no more wine. Dear woman, why do you involve me? Jesus replied. My time has not yet come. His mother said to the servants, Do whatever he tells you. Nearby stood six stone water jars, the kind used by the Jews for ceremonial washing, each holding from twenty to thirty gallons. Jesus said to the servants, Fill the jars with water; so they filled them to the brim. Then he told them, Now draw some out and take it to the master of the banquet. They did so, and the master of the banquet tasted the water that had been turned into wine. He did not realise where it had come from, though the servants who had drawn the water knew. Then he called the bridegroom aside and said, Everyone brings out the choice wine first and then the cheaper wine after the guests have had too much to drink; but you have saved the best till now. This, the first of his miraculous signs, Jesus performed at Cana in Galilee. He thus revealed his glory, and his disciples put their faith in him.

Reflection:

I would like to say that, the people of the Cana had the ‘God experience’ because of Jesus”. Jesus made his first miracle in the family and brought the family members in a good mood of the kingdom of God. Because of his miracle water turned in to good wine, a turning point took place. Jesus can change our life situation in a better way; he can change our tears in to smile. Very interesting point is, the man who invited Jesus and Mary for the wedding celebration. We can invite Jesus and Mary in our life, and we can believe and trust in them.

Bible word Luke 10.1-9

After this the Lord appointed seventy-two others and sent them two by two ahead of him to every town and place where he was about to go. He told them, The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field. Go! I am sending you out like lambs among wolves. Do not take a purse or bag or sandals; and do not greet anyone on the road. When you enter a house, first say, 'Peace to this house.' If a man of peace is there, your peace will rest on him; if not, it will return to you. Stay in that house, eating and drinking whatever they give you, for the worker deserves his wages. Do not move around from house to house. When you enter a town and are welcomed, eat what is set before you. Heal the sick who are there and tell them, 'The kingdom of God is near you.'

Reflection:

“The harvest is abundant but the labourers are few”. Many times we heard this bible words and perhaps we had a reflection on this word, but practically what we had done? And what we can do? We all have the golden opportunity to do for the kingdom of God. We can start the kingdom work in our family it self, pray together and eat together that would make wonderful effect in our life, then we experience that love is the language of the family. I would like to share one small experience; one lady who was reading my thesis, in one part of the thesis I was explaining that love is the language of the family, it touched her heart and she went near the husband and ask sorry for many things and have a very good reconciliation. We all have mission to proclaim the kingdom of God, we can ask the grace to happy in our family and our surroundings, this is the one the practical way of proclaim in his kingdom.

Wish you a joyful prayer meeting.

Bible word Luke 5.1-11

One day as Jesus was standing by the Lake of Gennesaret, with the people crowding round him and listening to the word of God, he saw at the water's edge two boats, left there by the fishermen, who were washing their nets. He got into one of the boats, the one belonging to Simon, and asked him to put out a little from shore. Then he sat down and taught the people from the boat. When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, Put out into deep water, and let down the nets for a catch. Simon answered, Master, we've worked hard all night and haven't caught anything. But because you say so, I will let down the nets. When they had done so, they caught such a large number of fish that their nets began to break. So they signalled to their partners in the other boat to come and help them, and they came and filled both boats so full that they began to sink. When Simon Peter saw this, he fell at Jesus' knees and said, Go away from me, Lord; I am a sinful man! For he and all his companions were astonished at the catch of fish they had taken, and so were James and John, the sons of Zebedee, Simon's partners. Then Jesus said to Simon, Don't be afraid; from now on you will catch men. So they pulled their boats up on shore, left everything and followed him.

Reflection:

“Put out into deep water for catching the fish”. The apostle Peter had an amazing experience. For many years he was just a fisher man, but when he had this deep experience in sea with Jesus, after that he changed his business, he started the kingdom business, and it means as a replacement for of catching fish, he began to start catching men for the sake of kingdom. He was working for long time but he didn’t get anything, but when he listen the word of Jesus and obeyed what Jesus said, he saw the miracle and also a meaningful catching. Jesus word is so powerful “into deep water”; Deepings is so great, deep love, deep friendship, deep prayer, deep joy, are so meaningful.
What we can catch from this bible words, to deepen in the word of God.

Wish you a pleasant prayer meeting.

Bible word Mark 6.53-56

When they had crossed over, they landed at Gennesaret and anchored there. As soon as they got out of the boat, people recognised Jesus. They ran throughout that whole region and carried the sick on mats to wherever they heard he was. And wherever he went- into villages, towns or countryside- they placed the sick in the market-places. They begged him to let them touch even the edge of his cloak, and all who touched him were healed.

Reflection:

Jesus is the son of living God, Jesus is so much alive with us, we also need healing from Jesus, only one condition to believe and trust in him. He is very much alive yesterday, today and tomorrow, few days before a big miracle happened in my prayer group, a lady she had an eye problem more than ten years, during the prayer meeting she had a deep touching experience, the nest day she went to the hospital doctor told her that she was completely healed. We can ask for the physical and inner healing.

Bible word Luke 6.27-38

But I tell you who hear me: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who ill-treat you. If someone strikes you on one cheek, turn to him the other also. If someone takes your cloak, do not stop him from taking your tunic. Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back. Do to others as you would have them do to you. If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? Even 'sinners' love those who love them. And if you do good to those who are good to you, what credit is that to you? Even 'sinners' do that. And if you lend to those from whom you expect repayment, what credit is that to you? Even 'sinners' lend to 'sinners', expecting to be repaid in full. But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked. Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful. Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.

Reflection:

Jesus is always encouraging and teaching us to love the enemies, to speak about it is very easy but put it into practice is some how difficult. How we can act that “Do Good to those who hate you”. It is very critical questions in our life, but there is way in Jesus’ hand, that is his wonderful teaching about the love of the enemies. Very practically come near to Jesus and ask for the grace for loving enemies.
I would like to say one clear example about an Indian sister, she was missionary sister, she was doing very much missionary work in north India, some one killed her, it was deep shock the family and all people, but gradually the family showed very clear example of witness, the parents of the sister visited the place after some months the mother of the sister kissed the hand of the enemy. Now the work is going on in church for making the sister a saint.

Bible word Luke 5.27-37

After this, Jesus went out and saw a tax collector by the name of Levi sitting at his tax booth. Follow me, Jesus said to him, and Levi got up, left everything and followed him. Then Levi held a great banquet for Jesus at his house, and a large crowd of tax collectors and others were eating with them. But the Pharisees and the teachers of the law who belonged to their sect complained to his disciples, Why do you eat and drink with tax collectors and 'sinners'? Jesus answered them, It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
They said to him, John's disciples often fast and pray, and so do the disciples of the Pharisees, but yours go on eating and drinking. Jesus answered, Can you make the guests of the bridegroom fast while he is with them? But the time will come when the bridegroom will be taken from them; in those days they will fast. He told them this parable: No-one tears a patch from a new garment and sews it on an old one. If he does, he will have torn the new garment, and the patch from the new will not match the old. And no-one pours new wine into old wineskins. If he does, the new wine will burst the skins, the wine will run out and the wineskins will be ruined.

Reflection:

Today’s bible word gives us very good description about calling Levi, and he is eating with sinners. He said him “Follow me” and he left everything behind, he got up and followed him. By the Levi’s action we can observe one great thing that is his deep hearted wish to follow Jesus, it is very clear that he made a wonderful and joyful banquet. My dear brothers and sisters we all have special call for the kingdom of God, we all are unique and our call also is special for reaching his mission in our family and the surroundings, today we can ask the grace to follow Jesus more closely and more intimately.

Bible word Luke 9.28-36

About eight days after Jesus said this, he took Peter, John and James with him and went up onto a mountain to pray. As he was praying, the appearance of his face changed, and his clothes became as bright as a flash of lightning. Two men, Moses and Elijah, appeared in glorious splendour, talking with Jesus. They spoke about his departure, which he was about to bring to fulfilment at Jerusalem. Peter and his companions were very sleepy, but when they became fully awake, they saw his glory and the two men standing with him. As the men were leaving Jesus, Peter said to him, Master, it is good for us to be here. Let us put up three shelters- one for you, one for Moses and one for Elijah. (He did not know what he was saying.) While he was speaking, a cloud appeared and enveloped them, and they were afraid as they entered the cloud. A voice came from the cloud, saying, This is my Son, whom I have chosen; listen to him. When the voice had spoken, they found that Jesus was alone. The disciples kept this to themselves, and told no-one at that time what they had seen.

Reflection:

My dear brothers and sisters in Christ,
the Transfiguration of Jesus gives us a beautiful picture of the prayer and its effects. Jesus took Peter, John and James and went up the mountain to pray. Jesus found a lot of time for praying, i.e. for the deep connection with God. The result is also given:
While he was praying his face changed in appearance and his clothing became dazzling white.
Prayer is the deep connection with God. If we have a deep connection, our life will be like evergreen. This connection will lead to more hope and providence. Recently, I was reading an article which was very interesting and touching. During a strong earth quake one place and also an elementary school were fully destroyed. People were running to a safe place and because of the damage caused by the strong quake it was very difficult to start with the rescue work to save the kids. They all believed that the children were dead. However, one papa came and started the rescue work by removing the soil where the classroom of his son had been. Many people told him, that another strong earth quake was coming and that he should get into safety.
But he carried on removing the soil and found his son and 3 other kids after 24 hours. They were still alive and they told him that they had gone into one corner when the earth quake had started and that the son had told the other kids:" Wait and don't be afraid. My papa is still alive and he will come and help me." This encouraging power helped the others, too. This papa loved his son so much and promised him that he would always help him, at any time and in any dangerous situation in his life.
This is encouraging in our life. At any time, we can believe that our papa (loving God) will come and help us.

Bible word Luke 15.11-32

Jesus continued: There was a man who had two sons. The younger one said to his father, 'Father, give me my share of the estate.' So he divided his property between them. Not long after that, the younger son got together all he had, set off for a distant country and there squandered his wealth in wild living. After he had spent everything, there was a severe famine in that whole country, and he began to be in need.  So he went and hired himself out to a citizen of that country, who sent him to his fields to feed pigs. He longed to fill his stomach with the pods that the pigs were eating, but no-one gave him anything.  When he came to his senses, he said, 'How many of my father's hired men have food to spare, and here I am starving to death! I will set out and go back to my father and say to him: Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son; make me like one of your hired men.'  So he got up and went to his father. But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him. The son said to him, 'Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.' But the father said to his servants, 'Quick! Bring the best robe and put it on him. Put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet. Bring the fattened calf and kill it. Let's have a feast and celebrate. For this son of mine was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.' So they began to celebrate. Meanwhile, the older son was in the field. When he came near the house, he heard music and dancing. So he called one of the servants and asked him what was going on. 'Your brother has come,' he replied, 'and your father has killed the fattened calf because he has him back safe and sound.'  The older brother became angry and refused to go in. So his father went out and pleaded with him. But he answered his father, 'Look! All these years I've been slaving for you and never disobeyed your orders.Yet you never gave me even a young goat so I could celebrate with my friends.  But when this son of yours who has squandered your property with prostitutes comes home, you kill the fattened calf for him!'  'My son,' the father said, 'you are always with me, and everything I have is yours. But we had to celebrate and be glad, because this brother of yours was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.'

Reflection:

It is very interesting that every country has its language and its own culture. It is very clear that each family has a language; namely the language of love, forgiveness and compassion.
Today’s reflection is that love is the language of the family. We just have to look at the parable of the prodigal son which makes it crystal-clear:
There are 3 characters in this parable - the loving papa, the prodigal son and the elder brother. The love of the papa is highlighted in the whole story. This love is full of compassion and care and it is very clearly the picture of the heavenly father.
The younger brother spends everything which he received from his papa. However, he finds himself and returns to his papa. The elder brother criticizes the younger one and he is not able to accept the younger brother.
Which effect does the message from the parable of the prodigal son have in our personal life? How do we respond to it?

Bible word Luke 15.8-10

Or suppose a woman has ten silver coins and loses one. Does she not light a lamp, sweep the house and search carefully until she finds it? And when she finds it, she calls her friends and neighbours together and says, 'Rejoice with me; I have found my lost coin.' In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.

Reflection:

My dear brothers and sisters,
we are preparing ourselves for Easter. How can we do this most effectively?
The answer is to repent of our sins. Usually, we look at the faults and sins of other people. Many times we do not see or understand the sins we commit.
Today’s reflection is strongly focusing on our repentance. Actually, penitence brings threefold happiness: heaven becomes happy, our family becomes happy and our personal life becomes happy, because a wonderful purification is taking place in our life at the moment of repentance.

I wish you a good time.

Bible word John 8.1-11

But Jesus went to the Mount of Olives. At dawn he appeared again in the temple courts, where all the people gathered round him, and he sat down to teach them. The teachers of the law and the Pharisees brought in a woman caught in adultery. They made her stand before the group and said to Jesus, Teacher, this woman was caught in the act of adultery. In the Law Moses commanded us to stone such women. Now what do you say? They were using this question as a trap, in order to have a basis for accusing him. But Jesus bent down and started to write on the ground with his finger. When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, If any one of you is without sin, let him be the first to throw a stone at her. Again he stooped down and wrote on the ground. At this, those who heard began to go away one at a time, the older ones first, until only Jesus was left, with the woman still standing there. Jesus straightened up and asked her, Woman, where are they? Has no-one condemned you? No-one, sir, she said. Then neither do I condemn you, Jesus declared. Go now and leave your life of sin.

Reflection:

We look at the teaching and actions of Jesus. It is crystal clear that He loves the sinners and condemns the sin. Today’s Gospel speaks about that wonderful attitude of Jesus. A woman was caught committing adultery. They brought her near Jesus and observed Jesus answer, but Jesus showed mercy to her and compassion. The result was so great: She became a very good evangelizer.

We can look at our own attitude towards others, how we look at others, and how we judge others. We learn from Jesus, that we can look at others with mercy and compassion and, at the same time, we can encounter our life and understand how we behave and how we can lead our life in a better way.

I wish you a joyful prayer meeting.

Bible word John 19.25-34

Near the cross of Jesus stood his mother, his mother's sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene. When Jesus saw his mother there, and the disciple whom he loved standing near by, he said to his mother, Dear woman, here is your son, and to the disciple, Here is your mother. From that time on, this disciple took her into his home. Later, knowing that all was now completed, and so that the Scripture would be fulfilled, Jesus said, I am thirsty. A jar of wine vinegar was there, so they soaked a sponge in it, put the sponge on a stalk of the hyssop plant, and lifted it to Jesus' lips. When he had received the drink, Jesus said, It is finished. With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit. Now it was the day of Preparation, and the next day was to be a special Sabbath. Because the Jews did not want the bodies left on the crosses during the Sabbath, they asked Pilate to have the legs broken and the bodies taken down. The soldiers therefore came and broke the legs of the first man who had been crucified with Jesus, and then those of the other. But when they came to Jesus and found that he was already dead, they did not break his legs. Instead, one of the soldiers pierced Jesus' side with a spear, bringing a sudden flow of blood and water.

Reflection:

Moses asked God to show him his glory (Ex 33:18). God answered: “I will make all my beauty pass for before you, and in your presence I will pronounce my name”. Then God passed before Moses and cried out as he passed: “The Lord, the Lord, a merciful and gracious God, slow to anger and rich in kindness and fidelity, continuing his kindness for a thousand generations….” In other words already at the dawn of the biblical revelation, God was telling us that his beauty, his glory, is only one thing: love.
In his Gospel, John is trying to tell us the same thing, not only about God but also about Jesus. Essentially for Him, Jesus manifests his glory in the same way in which God manifested his glory in the Old Testament, namely, by showing love in his entire behaviour and inner being. The passion and death are the perfect revelation of Jesus’ love. We can reflect Jesus wonderful love for us.

I wish you a joyful prayer meeting.

Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done.

Reflection:

My dear loving brothers and sisters,
I would like to give one simple thought for the good Friday reflection for our prayer meeting. Many times our prayers are answered, but sometimes they remain unanswered. In this case we join the company of Jesus, who prayed Father, if you are willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless my will, but yours, be done, and he has promised I will never fail you and forsake you Heb.13.5.  When prayers are unanswered, we must continue to trust in God who "causes all things to work together for good" (Rom 8.28).

Bible word John 20.11-18

But Mary stood outside the tomb crying. As she wept, she bent over to look into the tomb and saw two angels in white, seated where Jesus' body had been, one at the head and the other at the foot. They asked her, Woman, why are you crying? They have taken my Lord away, she said, and I don't know where they have put him. At this, she turned round and saw Jesus standing there, but she did not realise that it was Jesus. Woman, he said, why are you crying? Who is it you are looking for? Thinking he was the gardener, she said, Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have put him, and I will get him. Jesus said to her, Mary. She turned towards him and cried out in Aramaic, Rabboni! (which means Teacher). Jesus said, Do not hold on to me, for I have not yet returned to the Father. Go instead to my brothers and tell them, 'I am returning to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.' Mary Magdalene went to the disciples with the news: I have seen the Lord! And she told them that he had said these things to her.

Reflection:

God is not only almighty and compassionate as proclaimed by Jesus in His words and deeds but, He is also “my father and your father”. We can address God in the more intimate and familiar way “Abba”. You and I can put our trust and hope in Him as children do. As children we can demand His love, His presence, His forgiveness. Proof of this is that Jesus has given us His spirit that makes us sons and daughters of God. God loves us as much as He loves Jesus, and that at the end of our journey our final home is to be with him. The good news of the kingdom is this: we have our father, no more no less.

Bible word John 6.16-21

When evening came, his disciples went down to the lake, where they got into a boat and set off across the lake for Capernaum. By now it was dark, and Jesus had not yet joined them. A strong wind was blowing and the waters grew rough. When they had rowed three or three and a half miles, they saw Jesus approaching the boat, walking on the water; and they were terrified. But he said to them, It is I; don't be afraid. Then they were willing to take him into the boat, and immediately the boat reached the shore where they were heading.

Reflection:

My dear brothers and sisters,
Today’s bible words give us new thoughts.
Walking on the road is common, but walking on the water is not common.
Even though we have all kinds of wealth, power and titles we cannot walk on the water naturally. So it is very clear that our power is limited.
The first insight I would like to share with you is that we can depend on God’s power, but not on our power. By walking to the disciples in their difficult situation, Jesus showed his deepest love.
The second reflection is that Jesus never leaves us alone or drops us.
The third insight is that whatever situation we face, Jesus can come to us and help us. Sometimes we will think: „How is God going to help me? In which way?" Then we can keep his words in our heart: "I am the way, truth and life".

Bible word John 10.27-30

My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no-one can snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no-one can snatch them out of my Father's hand. I and the Father are one.

Reflection:

My dear loving brothers and sisters,
it is a very interesting and enlightening thought, that we have a good shepherd (Jesus) who takes care of us. If we observe our life, we can see that he has helped us many times in a special way, and we all experience his wonderful providence in our daily life. So the conclusion is, that we have a good shepherd. However, there is one question we have to ask ourselves: "Am I a good sheep?" According to the bible a good sheep hears the voice of the shepherd and follows him. We can also do the same - hear the voice of the Lord and follow him.

Bible word Jeremiah 17.7-8

But blessed are those who trust in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.

Reflection:

My dear brothers and sisters, we heard many times “providence of God”, “Trust in God”; these words we may keep not only in our mind but keep in our hearts, and truly believe in it. The result will be so wonderful; the bible words very clearly gave us the effect of it. A person who deeply trust in God, the life will be like this.

1.         the tree planted along the riverbank,
2.         roots that reach deep into the water
3.         Not bothered by heat or worry
4.         their leaves stay green
5.         producing delicious fruit

Bible word John 14.7-14

If you really knew me, you would know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him. Philip said, Lord, show us the Father and that will be enough for us. Jesus answered: Don't you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, 'Show us the Father'? Don't you believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in me? The words I say to you are not just my own. Rather, it is the Father, living in me, who is doing his work. Believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me; or at least believe on the evidence of the miracles themselves. I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.

Reflection:

One day one of my priest friends told me about his lovely experience just after the Holy Mass. When he was greeting the people after the Holy Mass, a small girl about four years old came to him, held his hand and asked:  What is the colour of Gods eyes? Without a moment of hesitation he replied: Blue, just like yours. She was very happy and gave him a big smile.
In today’s Good News Jesus gives us a clue about what our Lord said and what God is like by declaring: Whoever has seen me has seen the father.
Look at him in the Bethlehem cradle. Watch Him feed the hungry, reach out to the sick and handicapped. Stand beneath the cross: here is a man who died out of love for everyone. He is telling us that God is all-loving.

Bible word John 14.27-31

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. You heard me say, 'I am going away and I am coming back to you.' If you loved me, you would be glad that I am going to the Father, for the Father is greater than I. I have told you now before it happens, so that when it does happen you will believe. I will not speak with you much longer, for the prince of this world is coming. He has no hold on me, but the world must learn that I love the Father and that I do exactly what my Father has commanded me. Come now; let us leave.

Reflection:

In her first days of pre-school, Rosalyn would cry the moment her mom was out of sight. One day, her mom told her, Rosalyn, I love you and I know you love me, too. Take this handkerchief with the scent of my favourite perfume to school. Every time you don’t see me, just hold this handkerchief and smell my perfume and it’s as if I am with you. You need not cry because I really did not leave you. And it worked from then on, Rosalyn started to learn how to be on her own and enjoyed going to school.
In the Gospel today, Jesus gave His apostles a parting gift - the gift of peace. Peace is the assurance of his abiding presence. The disciples felt no fear, for they believed that the Lord, through the Holy Spirit, will never leave them. With faith in the Lord, they lived with joy and peace. It is due to Gods presence that we experience peace. The presence of God gives us peace even in pain, in trials and difficulties.

Bible word Acts 1.6-11

So when they met together, they asked him, Lord, are you at this time going to restore the kingdom to Israel? He said to them: It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth. After he said this, he was taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud hid him from their sight. They were looking intently up into the sky as he was going, when suddenly two men dressed in white stood beside them. Men of Galilee, they said, why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven.

Reflection:

My dear brothers and sisters,
before Jesus is taken up into heaven, he spoke about the power of the Holy Spirit. These were his last words just before the departure to heaven. There are two things, which will happen to our life when the Holy Spirit comes:

- We will be filled with power.
- We will be witness to Jesus.

We all need power and the Holy Spirit will bring us the power! In our daily life, we are facing many problems and difficulties, and sometimes we have that powerless feeling. Thus the power of the Holy Spirit is so necessary for our life. We need to be living witnesses, this means, we should not only listen to the word of God but also put it into action. In the Holy Mass we can “see” the touching word Jesus said: “do it in memory of me”. The Holy Spirit will help us to be witness of Jesus. So we can ask for the special grace of the Holy Spirit.

Bible word John 16.12-15

I have much more to say to you, more than you can now bear. But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. He will bring glory to me by taking from what is mine and making it known to you. All that belongs to the Father is mine. That is why I said the Spirit will take from what is mine and make it known to you.

Reflection:

As Catholic Christians we usually start our prayers with the sign of the Cross saying: “In the name of the father, the son and the Holy Spirit”. We address our God as one in three persons. This Gospel reveals Jesus’ dynamic relationship with the Holy Spirit and the father.

We still would like to know what it means when we say: “God is one in three”. I was reading one article about the Trinity. A lady teacher explained the meaning of trinity to her school children in a very interesting way. She took three single candles, lit each one of them and put the three flames of the candles together in such a way that there appeared only one flame. Then, she asked the children: “How many candles do you see?” and all the children said: “Three”. After putting the three lightened candles together she asked: “And now? How many flames do you see?” All the children replied: “One”. Then she concluded her demonstration by saying, “and so it is with the mystery of the Triune God. There are three persons like three candles but only one flame, the one God.

Bible word Luke 15.3-7

Then Jesus told them this parable: Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Does he not leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it? And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders and goes home. Then he calls his friends and neighbours together and says, 'Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep.' I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.

Reflection:

My dear loving brothers and sisters,
these bible words give us a beautiful description about God’s mercy and compassionate love. Many times we think about how we can make others happy and we find a way for achieving it. We say good words, give gifts etc.
When it comes to our spiritual life, we have to ask ourselves: ”How can I make our Lord and heaven happy, too?” The answer is very clear. We have to repent our sins. Actually, when we repent our sins, a very deep purification is happening in our life. The bible very clearly states in Joshua 3,5: Purify yourself, God will do miracles tomorrow in your life.
We can ask for the grace of repentance and reconciliation.

Bible word Luke 2.41-51

Every year his parents went to Jerusalem for the Feast of the Passover. When he was twelve years old, they went up to the Feast, according to the custom. After the Feast was over, while his parents were returning home, the boy Jesus stayed behind in Jerusalem, but they were unaware of it. Thinking he was in their company, they travelled on for a day. Then they began looking for him among their relatives and friends. When they did not find him, they went back to Jerusalem to look for him. After three days they found him in the temple courts, sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions. Everyone who heard him was amazed at his understanding and his answers. When his parents saw him, they were astonished. His mother said to him, Son, why have you treated us like this? Your father and I have been anxiously searching for you. Why were you searching for me? he asked. Didn't you know I had to be in my Father's house? But they did not understand what he was saying to them. Then he went down to Nazareth with them and was obedient to them. But his mother treasured all these things in her heart.

Reflection:

Today’s Gospel reflection is that after three days they found him in the temple. The parents felt sad when they lost Jesus, but their sadness turned into joy when they found Jesus in the temple. Here we can see a losing experience and a finding experience. The losing experience brings sadness in our life, whereas the finding experience brings joy in our life. We all have one deep question:
How can I always keep happiness in my life? We need a finding experience, and if we find Jesus in our life we become happy persons and positive thinkers. If we find Jesus in the Temple, our prayer life and the sacraments become more and more important for us. This is the way to find Jesus and it brings more happiness in our daily life.

Bible word Mathew 5.43-48

'You have heard that it was said, “Love your neighbour and hate your enemy.” But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? And if you greet only your own people, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.

Reflection:

In the Gospel today, Jesus said” You have heard it was said, you shall love your neighbour and hate your enemy, But I say to you, love your enemies, and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your heavenly Father”. It is truly difficult to forgive and love those who have wronged us, but as children of the heavenly father, we are being challenged to be like Him by our prayer and good mind. God says I will give you a new heart and new mind.

Bible word Mathew 16.13-19

When Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, 'Who do people say the Son of Man is?' They replied, 'Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets.' 'But what about you?' he asked. 'Who do you say I am?' Simon Peter answered, 'You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.' Jesus replied, 'Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by my Father in heaven. And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of death will not overcome it. I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.'

Reflection:

My dear loving brothers and sisters, I wish you a happy feast day of St. Peter and Paul. Jesus asked a question to the Peter, what people say about Him? And Jesus wanted to know the answer from Peter too. Peter gave the right answer “You are the Messiah, the son of living God”. Peter gives the right answer, we all can be happy because we have an answer now, my Jesus is with me and my Jesus is the son of living God, we can keep always this point in our heart, of course it will create a much fruit in our personal life and our family life.

Bible word Mathew 9.1-8

Jesus stepped into a boat, crossed over and came to his own town. Some men brought to him a paralysed man, lying on a mat. When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the man, 'Take heart, son; your sins are forgiven.' At this, some of the teachers of the law said to themselves, 'This fellow is blaspheming!' Knowing their thoughts, Jesus said, 'Why do you entertain evil thoughts in your hearts? Which is easier: to say, “Your sins are forgiven,” or to say, “Get up and walk”? But I want you to know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins.' So he said to the paralysed man, 'Get up, take your mat and go home.' Then the man got up and went home. When the crowd saw this, they were filled with awe; and they praised God, who had given such authority to human beings.

Reflection:

My dear brothers and sisters,
today’s reflection about the healing of the paralytic. The paralytic man is unable to go near Jesus but the friends and relative helped to reach near Jesus. We all have the mission to bring people near to God and bring Jesus near to the people. Our good service and help will make and positive effect to bring people near to Jesus, and our dedicated and holy life will bring Jesus near to the people.

I wish you a fruitful prayer meeting.

Bible word Luke 10.25-37

On one occasion an expert in the law stood up to test Jesus. 'Teacher,' he asked, 'what must I do to inherit eternal life?' 'What is written in the Law?' he replied. 'How do you read it?' He answered, ' “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind”; and, “Love your neighbour as yourself.” 'You have answered correctly,' Jesus replied. 'Do this and you will live.' But he wanted to justify himself, so he asked Jesus, 'And who is my neighbour?' In reply Jesus said: 'A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, when he fell into the hands of robbers. They stripped him of his clothes, beat him and went away, leaving him half-dead. A priest happened to be going down the same road, and when he saw the man, he passed by on the other side. So too, a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side. But a Samaritan, as he travelled, came where the man was; and when he saw him, he took pity on him. He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he put the man on his own donkey, brought him to an inn and took care of him. The next day he took out two denarii and gave them to the innkeeper. “Look after him,” he said, “and when I return, I will reimburse you for any extra expense you may have.” 'Which of these three do you think was a neighbour to the man who fell into the hands of robbers?' The expert in the law replied, 'The one who had mercy on him.' Jesus told him, 'Go and do likewise.'

Reflection:

Jesus is our model of what it means to love God and neighbour. His life is the best example for it. Our neighbour is anyone in need especially the unlovable. Everybody, therefore, is our neighbour. The first encyclical letter of Pope Benedict XVI, Deus Caritas Est., is timely reminder for us Christians. It asks us to go back to the very core of our Christian calling.
As Christians, we have no other calling to love. More than anything else we ought to become instruments of love, agape, in the world.

Bible word Luke 10.38-42

As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord's feet listening to what he said. But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, 'Lord, don't you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!' 'Martha, Martha,' the Lord answered, 'you are worried and upset about many things, but few things are needed—or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.'

Reflection:

My dear brothers and sisters in Christ,
the Gospel today speaks about the character of the Martha and Mary. The speciality of Martha she is always worried of many things, but on the other hand Mary she is no more worry and so quite near Jesus. Jesus says three is need of only one thing. Mary has chosen the better part and it will not be taken from her. Of course we have our own problem and difficulties but we can more and more trust in God.

Jeremiah 17:7 “But I will bless the person who puts his trust in me”
Jeremiah 31:20 “Israel you are my dearest son, the child I love the best.

Bible word Luke 11.1-13

One day Jesus was praying in a certain place. When he finished, one of his disciples said to him, Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples. He said to them, When you pray, say: 'Father, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come. Give us each day our daily bread. Forgive us our sins, for we also forgive everyone who sins against us. And lead us not into temptation.' Then he said to them, Suppose one of you has a friend, and he goes to him at midnight and says, 'Friend, lend me three loaves of bread, because a friend of mine on a journey has come to me, and I have nothing to set before him.' Then the one inside answers, 'Don't bother me. The door is already locked, and my children are with me in bed. I can't get up and give you anything.' I tell you, though he will not get up and give him the bread because he is his friend, yet because of the man's boldness he will get up and give him as much as he needs. So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened. Which of you fathers, if your son asks for a fish, will give him a snake instead? Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion? If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!

Reflection:

My dear brother and sisters in Christ,
Jesus is the great model of prayer, he spend much time for the prayer. The disciple asked him to teach how to pray.
Because the discipline came to know that prayer is the power point from the life of Jesus. He gave us beautiful prayer called Lord’s Prayer. We can start our day with prayer and end the day with prayer.
Always keep in our mind: no prayer no power

Bible word Mathew 13.54-58

Coming to his home town, he began teaching the people in their synagogue, and they were amazed. 'Where did this man get this wisdom and these miraculous powers?' they asked. 'Isn't this the carpenter's son? Isn't his mother's name Mary, and aren't his brothers James, Joseph, Simon and Judas? Aren't all his sisters with us? Where then did this man get all these things?' And they took offence at him. But Jesus said to them, 'Only in their own towns and in their own homes are prophets without honour.' And he did not do many miracles there because of their lack of faith.

Reflection:

The Jews were amazed at the content and the methodology of His teachings.
But their admiration did not lead to an acceptance of His teaching because they have already prejudged Him. Their prejudice against Jesus can result only in a rejection of His teaching. And they rationalized their rejection by saying that he was only a son of a carpenter. My dear brothers and sisters we can keep good concept of Jesus’ teachings and we can keep in our mind that Jesus is the son of the living God.  It will make much fruit in our life. Without tree, there is no fruit. So the real concept of Jesus and his teachings may grow in our hearts like a tree and have much fruit.

As the men were leaving Jesus, Peter said to him, 'Master, it is good for us to be here. Let us put up three shelters—one for you, one for Moses and one for Elijah.' (He did not know what he was saying.) While he was speaking, a cloud appeared and covered them, and they were afraid as they entered the cloud. A voice came from the cloud, saying, 'This is my Son, whom I have chosen; listen to him.' When the voice had spoken, they found that Jesus was alone. The disciples kept this to themselves and did not tell anyone at that time what they had seen.

Reflection:

My dear brothers and sisters,
the reflection of this time is about the mountain of Tabor wherein Jesus and his disciples have a deep experience there in Tabor. It happened during the time of prayer. They have seen Moses and Elijah appearing in Glory. Of course prayer makes total change in our life so that disciples asked Jesus to teach them how to pray. Prayer is the spiritual food for our life; we are the pilgrim people to the kingdom of God.  So we need the spiritual bread -- that is our prayer.

I wish you a pleasant prayer meeting.

Bible word Luke 12.49-53

'I have come to bring fire on the earth, and how I wish it were already kindled! But I have a baptism to undergo, and what constraint I am under until it is completed! Do you think I came to bring peace on earth? No, I tell you, but division. From now on there will be five in one family divided against each other, three against two and two against three. They will be divided, father against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother, mother-in-law against daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against mother-in-law.'

Reflection:

My dear brothers and sisters,
Christ Jesus’ word is in Luke 12:49 “I have come to throw fire on earth and how much I desire to see it burning” by these words we can very clearly see the visions and mission of Jesus. I am so happy that this is our vision and mission. Here the meaning of the fire is the Holy Spirit, this fire is very necessary for our life. We can not imagine without fire and light in our ordinary life. Likewise it is the importance in our spiritual life; the need of the fire of the Holy Spirit.
Truly the fire transforms our life. It makes new heart and new mind. We can especially ask Jesus to bring the fire in our heart.

Bible word John 1.45-51

Philip found Nathanael and told him, 'We have found the one Moses wrote about in the Law, and about whom the prophets also wrote—Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.' 'Nazareth! Can anything good come from there?' Nathanael asked. 'Come and see,' said Philip. When Jesus saw Nathanael approaching, he said of him, 'Here truly is an Israelite in whom there is no deceit.' 'How do you know me?' Nathanael asked. Jesus answered, 'I saw you while you were still under the fig-tree before Philip called you.' Then Nathanael declared, 'Rabbi, you are the Son of God; you are the king of Israel.' Jesus said, 'You believe because I told you I saw you under the fig-tree. You will see greater things than that.' He then added, 'Very truly I tell you, you will see “heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending on'' the Son of Man.'

Reflection:

My dear loving brothers and sister,
we also have the special call for the kingdom of God. This call not only priest and sisters but it is for everyone. To aware and experience this call is so relevant in our life, many people feels there is no meaning for the life, it is not true, when we aware of our call we feel meaning in our life and joy in our life. Jesus said to Nathanael “you will see greater things than this”. If you believe and trust in God we will see greater things, it will be wonderful providence of God in our daily life.

Bible word Mathew 25.1-13

At that time the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. Five of them were foolish and five were wise. The foolish ones took their lamps but did not take any oil with them. The wise, however, took oil in jars along with their lamps. The bridegroom was a long time in coming, and they all became drowsy and fell asleep. At midnight the cry rang out: 'Here's the bridegroom! Come out to meet him!' Then all the virgins woke up and trimmed their lamps. The foolish ones said to the wise, 'Give us some of your oil; our lamps are going out.' 'No,' they replied, 'there may not be enough for both us and you. Instead, go to those who sell oil and buy some for yourselves.' But while they were on their way to buy the oil, the bridegroom arrived. The virgins who were ready went in with him to the wedding banquet. And the door was shut. Later the others also came. 'Sir! Sir!' they said. 'Open the door for us!' But he replied, 'I tell you the truth, I don't know you.' Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour.

Reflection:

My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, the parables of Jesus are wonderful instruments to convey the kingdom of God. Very treatments connotation gives for our practical life. In the parable of ten virgins, Jesus explains how we can prepare intensively for the kingdom of God.  In this parable five were foolish and five were wise.  The five did not take additional oil, and the wise took the additional oil. The additional oil is connected to our daily life, such as love, hope, faith, self-control, patience and forgiveness. The absence of these virtues depicts those who do not take the oil with them.  We can have the fruits of the Holy Spirit and be wise all the time.

Bible word Mathew 1.18-23

This is how the birth of Jesus Christ came about: His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be with child through the Holy Spirit. Because Joseph her husband was a righteous man and did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce herquietly. But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins. All this took place to fulfil what the Lord had said through the prophet: The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel- which means, God with us.

Reflection:

I wish you a great feast of Mother Mary “the Birth of the Blessed virgin Mary”.

Mother Mary was completely an instrument of God. She was fully dedicated to God. In her life we can notice one very special point: she walks not only by sight but by faith. When the angel came to her and announced the wonderful news, she walked by faith. When her husband was doubting her, when the 12-year-old Jesus was lost in the temple, the Calvary and the time of Jesus’ death, all the time and all through her life she walked by faith.
Today we can ask for this special grace of walking all the moments of our life not only by sight but by faith.

All these years I've been slaving for you and never disobeyed your orders. Yet you never gave me even a young goat so I could celebrate with my friends.

Reflection:

My dear brothers and sisters in Christ,
Jesus’ compassionate love is highlighted in the parable of the lost son. The son went far away and spent everything that he had received from the father, but he didn’t lose his father.
When he thought about his situation and came to himself, he took a good decision and went back to the house and the father received him with great joy and made a wonderful celebration.
This means that a person who returns from his sinful situation will be received by the Heavenly father with great joy and compassion. We can think of ourselves and come very close to God. This will make heaven and earth happy.

I wish you fruitful prayer meeting.

Bible word Luke 8.4-10

While a large crowd was gathering and people were coming to Jesus from town after town, he told this parable: A farmer went out to sow his seed. As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path; it was trampled on, and the birds of the air ate it up. Some fell on rock, and when it came up, the plants withered because they had no moisture. Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up with it and choked the plants. Still other seed fell on good soil. It came up and yielded a crop, a hundred times more than was sown. When he said this, he called out, He who has ears to hear, let him hear. His disciples asked him what this parable meant. He said, The knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of God has been given to you, but to others I speak in parables, so that, 'though seeing, they may not see; though hearing, they may not understand.'

Reflection:

My dear brothers and sisters in Christ,
the meaning of the parable is very clear. The seed is the word of God. Those on the path are the ones who have heard, but the devil comes and takes away the word from their hearts, so that they do not believe and will not be saved. Those on rocky ground are the ones who, when they hear, receive the word with joy, but they have no root. They believe only for a certain time and fall away in time of trial. The seeds that fell among the thorns refer to the ones who have heard, but as they go along, they are choked by anxieties and riches and pleasures of life, and they fail to produce mature fruit. But the seeds that fell on rich soil are the ones who, when they have heard the word, embrace it with a generous and good heart, and bear fruit with a generous and good heart, and bear fruit through perseverance.

I wish you a pleasant prayer meeting.

Bible word John 1.47-51

When Jesus saw Nathanael approaching, he said of him, Here is a true Israelite, in whom there is nothing false. How do you know me? Nathanael asked. Jesus answered, I saw you while you were still under the fig-tree before Philip called you. Then Nathanael declared, Rabbi, you are the Son of God; you are the King of Israel. Jesus said, You believe because I told you I saw you under the fig-tree. You shall see greater things than that. He then added, I tell you the truth, you shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man.

Reflection:

My dear brothers and sisters,
we can be happy all the time, because our loving Jesus knows us very well and knows what is best for us. Once I was giving a healing service in Manila. During the time of prayer I had the deep feeling that someone’s back pain was healing. I asked, if anybody suffered from back pain and was experiencing a healing now. One girl told me that she had a severe back pain till coming to the healing service. Now she was absolutely free from pain and healed. Then, very soon, the name “Anna” came to my mind. I asked the group, if anybody here was called Anna? The girl who got the healing told me that her name was Anna, praise the Lord.
God knows us and he is revealing it like Jesus when he saw Nathanael. Jesus said: “Here is a true Israelite. There is no duplicity in Him”. Jesus knows us; he knows our problems, difficulties. He can help us in a wonderful way. Jeremiah 33.3 says “call me I will answer you”. We can call him and ask him for the answer and have a joyful life by the grace of God.

I wish you a pleasant prayer meeting.

Bible word Luke 17.5-10

The apostles said to the Lord, Increase our faith! He replied, If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, 'Be uprooted and planted in the sea,' and it will obey you. Suppose one of you had a servant ploughing or looking after the sheep. Would he say to the servant when he comes in from the field, 'Come along now and sit down to eat'? Would he not rather say, 'Prepare my supper, get yourself ready and wait on me while I eat and drink; after that you may eat and drink'? Would he thank the servant because he did what he was told to do? So you also, when you have done everything you were told to do, should say, 'We are unworthy servants; we have only done our duty.'

Reflection:

My dear loving brothers and sisters,
I hope you are all ok by the grace of God. Today our reflection is “Increase our faith”. It is so necessary in our life to keep the faith and to increase the faith. This morning I received a quite touching email. It said that each moment we can call God like making a phone call and God will give the answer by the bible words. I thought that this is excellent thinking and a meditation thought for today’s prayer group reflection.

Bible word Luke 17.11-19

Now on his way to Jerusalem, Jesus travelled along the border between Samaria and Galilee. As he was going into a village, ten men who had leprosy met him. They stood at a distance and called out in a loud voice, Jesus, Master, have pity on us! When he saw them, he said, Go, show yourselves to the priests. And as they went, they were cleansed. One of them, when he saw he was healed, came back, praising God in a loud voice. He threw himself at Jesus' feet and thanked him- and he was a Samaritan. Jesus asked, Were not all ten cleansed? Where are the other nine? Was no-one found to return and give praise to God except this foreigner? Then he said to him, Rise and go; your faith has made you well.

Reflection:

My dear loving brothers and sisters,
every day we ask many questions in our life situations. Today we can ask one question in connection with the bible words: “Are we thankful all the time?” At one time, ten lepers came to Jesus. Jesus blessed them and they went home. During the return journey they all were healed. Only one leper came back to Jesus to say thanks and Jesus asked him where the other nine were.
God has already given many blessings and healings. Are we thankful? We can start today and say many times to Jesus: “Thank you, Jesus, for my life, for my blessings and for my family.” When we start praising God, we receive lots of blessings and, at the same time, our relationship with God becomes deeper and deeper.

I wish you a pleasant prayer meeting with lots of blessings.

Prayer Meeting "Eucharistic Flame"

Bible word Luke 18.1-8

Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up. He said: In a certain town there was a judge who neither feared God nor cared about men. And there was a widow in that town who kept coming to him with the plea, 'Grant me justice against my adversary.' For some time he refused. But finally he said to himself, 'Even though I don't fear God or care about men, yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will see that she gets justice, so that she won't eventually wear me out with her coming!' And the Lord said, Listen to what the unjust judge says. And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off? I tell you, he will see that they get justice, and quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?

Reflection:

My dear brothers and sisters,

today we can reflect about the prayer. We all know that prayer can move mountains,
but sometimes we ask ourselves why prayers are not answered. The Gospel very clearly tells us to be persistent. The widow in the parable is a very great model.
Actually, prayer is the power, it brings much fruit in our life. I would like to give you an example of the effect of prayer in my life. How it will work in our daily life. One morning I went for adoration in Manila. There, I met a man who turned out to be a television director. He invited me to his TV channel and now, every Sunday, I have a live television programme. So please keep in your heart that our prayers are not a waste of time, but they produce wonderful fruit.

Wish you a joyful prayer meeting and God bless you all.

Bible word Luke 18.9-14

To some who were confident of their own righteousness and looked down on everybody else, Jesus told this parable: Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. The Pharisee stood up and prayed about himself: 'God, I thank you that I am not like other men- robbers, evildoers, adulterers- or even like this tax collector. I fast twice a week and give a tenth of all I get.' But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, 'God, have mercy on me, a sinner.' I tell you that this man, rather than the other, went home justified before God. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.

Reflection:

My dear brothers and sisters,
God may bless you all. Today’s bible words invite us to a deep self-examination of our conscience. Prayer is our basic core of life, but we have to think about our attitudes. Here, in the parable, we can observe two attitudes. The Pharisee thinks that he is doing everything right, on the other hand the tax collector has the feeling and deep prayer in the heart “O God, be merciful to me, I am a sinner”. The Bible says that the attitude of the tax collector is accepted by God. My dear brothers and sisters, let’s keep a humble heart and experience the kingdom of God in our heart.

I wish you a pleasant prayer meeting with lots of fruit.

Bible word Luke 19.1-10

Jesus entered Jericho and was passing through. A man was there by the name of Zacchaeus; he was a chief tax collector and was wealthy. He wanted to see who Jesus was, but being a short man he could not, because of the crowd. So he ran ahead and climbed a sycamore-fig tree to see him, since Jesus was coming that way. When Jesus reached the spot, he looked up and said to him, Zacchaeus, come down immediately. I must stay at your house today. So he came down at once and welcomed him gladly. All the people saw this and began to mutter, He has gone to be the guest of a 'sinner'. But Zacchaeus stood up and said to the Lord, Look, Lord! Here and now I give half of my possessions to the poor, and if I have cheated anybody out of anything, I will pay back four times the amount. Jesus said to him, Today salvation has come to this house, because this man, too, is a son of Abraham. For the Son of Man came to seek and to save what was lost.

Reflection:

My dear loving brothers and sisters,
Jesus is with us, He is the rest for the Restless Hearts. It can be very clearly seen in the life of Zacchaeus. He was not happy until he found God in his life. He had money but something was missing in his life. One time I read in an article: “After twenty years of listening to the yearning of people’s hearts, I am convinced that all human beings have an inborn desire for God”. Actually it is true in the story of Zacchaeus. In the inner journey of Zacchaeus we can see different steps in his life: (1) He wished to see Jesus, (2) he climbed on a sycamore tree, (3) he was attentively watching, (4) he heard the voice of Jesus, (5) he hurried down, (6) he took Jesus in his house, (7) he totally changed his life, (8) he experienced the joy of the Lord in his heart. We can look at our life and think about where we are standing!

Bible word John 15.5-10

I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. If anyone does not remain in me, he is like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given you. This is to my Father's glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples. As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. If you obey my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have obeyed my Father's commands and remain in his love.

Reflection:

My dear loving brothers and sisters,
I would like to share with you a happy news connected with the word of God. The bible says: “If you remain in me and my words remain in you, then you will ask for anything you wish and you shall have it”. The Word of God is really true and it will work wonders. Four years before, when I came to Manila, a charismatic priest told me: “You will speak in the television and you will get a house for the centre.” By the grace of God I have the TV programme already and my radio programme will start next month. I had an appointment with the bishop of my diocese some days before and I asked for the permission for the Eucharistic flame evangelization centre. Today I have received the letter from the bishop giving me the permission for the Eucharistic flame evangelization centre in the Philippines. So please keep praying for the centre and all the prayer groups. Believe and trust in God. God will perform wonders in your life.

Bible word Mathew 5.11

Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me.

Reflection:

My dear brothers and sisters,
Jesus’ word is always encouraging in our life journey.
Sometimes we hate people who are making bad comments about us, but even though we are suffering from persecutions due to the bad words and the circulating rumours, we still have a reason for happiness.
I would like to give you a clear example using the jack fruit tree. This tree is very common in my place in Kerala. Each tree produces lots of fruit and each fruit weighs about five kilo or more. When the fruit has grown and looks ripe, the gardener tests the fruit by piercing it with a knife to take out a seed. It may be painful for that tree, but it is necessary to see whether this fruit is already ripe. Sometimes we have a fruit testing experience in our life. Don’t be afraid, God is with you.

I wish you a joyful prayer meeting.

Bible word Luke 18.35-43

Jesus approached Jericho, a blind man was sitting by the roadside begging. When he heard the crowd going by, he asked what was happening. They told him, Jesus of Nazareth is passing by. He called out, Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me! Those who led the way rebuked him and told him to be quiet, but he shouted all the more, Son of David, have mercy on me! Jesus stopped and ordered the man to be brought to him. When he came near, Jesus asked him, What do you want me to do for you? Lord, I want to see, he replied. Jesus said to him, Receive your sight; your faith has healed you. Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus, praising God. When all the people saw it, they also praised God.

Reflection:

My dear brothers and sisters,
Jesus healed a blind beggar. For this beggar it is a deep-touching experience in his life. Here, we can observe the deep concern and care of Jesus for the people. We can also ask for healing. We have the eyesight, but we can ask for more “eyesight” for our inner life.
By God’s grace I have a radio programme from this week onwards. The director of the radio station is a blind man. He was a soldier and during his work he had an accident and got blind, but this didn’t discourage him to see the life. He wished to do something beautiful for God and he told me “because of my blindness I found a new mission in my life, namely to give the light to the people through the radio." God may bless you!

I wish you a great and joyful prayer meeting

Bible word Mathew 4.18-22

As Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon called Peter and his brother Andrew. They were casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen. Come, follow me, Jesus said, and I will make you fishers of men. At once they left their nets and followed him. Going on from there, he saw two other brothers, James son of Zebedee and his brother John. They were in a boat with their father Zebedee, preparing their nets. Jesus called them, and immediately they left the boat and their father and followed him.

Reflection:

Jesus said to them” come after me, and I will make you fishers of men”. We can reflect upon one special point during our prayer meeting: “I will make you”. Here, it is very clear that Jesus is basically making our life more beautiful. So we can ask for his guidance and help all the time. The bible says: ”Believe in God you will see the glory of God.” When the fishermen received the call, they immediately followed Jesus with great enthusiasm. Jesus’ words always touch: “Take the daily cross and follow me”. We all have our daily cross and still believe in Jesus. He will help us all the time.

Bible word Luke 1.26-38

In the sixth month, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a town in Galilee, to a virgin pledged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of David. The virgin's name was Mary. The angel went to her and said, Greetings, you who are highly favoured! The Lord is with you. Mary was greatly troubled at his words and wondered what kind of greeting this might be. But the angel said to her, Do not be afraid, Mary, you have found favour with God. You will be with child and give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over the house of Jacob for ever; his kingdom will never end. How will this be, Mary asked the angel, since I am a virgin? The angel answered, The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God. Even Elizabeth your relative is going to have a child in her old age, and she who was said to be barren is in her sixth month. For nothing is impossible with God. I am the Lord's servant, Mary answered. May it be to me as you have said. Then the angel left her.

Reflection:

The doctrine states that from the very beginning of her origin, mother Mary was privileged to be kept out of original sin because of the special grace she received from God. In his credo of the people of God (1968) Pope VI. goes in great detail into the immaculate conception of Mary: “We believe that Mary is the Mother, who remained ever a virgin, of the incarnate Word, our God and savior Jesus Christ, and that by reason of this singular election, she was, in consideration of the merits of her son, redeemed in a more eminent manner preserved from all stain of original sin, and filled with the gift of grace more than all other creatures.

My dear brothers and sisters in Christ,
I wish you a happy feast day and let our mother Mary help us in our life. Mother Mary is the queen of the world. Consequently, we are a prince or a princess.

I wish you joyful prayer meeting full of grace.

Bible word Mathew 11.28-30

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.

Reflection:

My dear brothers and sisters,
we have hope all the time, because Jesus is our hope.
Sometimes things are not going according to our own plan; still we can believe something good will happens and the outcome of the painful situation will be good. Jesus invites us “come to me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest”.  Only God can give us the perfect peace and rest in our life. We are preparing our heart for Christmas. It is the time in which we can give the place in our heart more deeply to Jesus and we can prepare our heart. We can try to be a holy good before God.

I wish you a joyful prayer meeting.

Bible word Luke 1.39-45

At that time Mary got ready and hurried to a town in the hill country of Judea, where she entered Zechariah's home and greeted Elizabeth. When Elizabeth heard Mary's greeting, the baby leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. In a loud voice she exclaimed: Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the child you will bear! But why am I so favoured, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? As soon as the sound of your greeting reached my ears, the baby in my womb leaped for joy. Blessed is she who has believed that what the Lord has said to her will be accomplished!

Reflection:

We are in the very good mood of Christmas. Everywhere, there is light, music and we are surrounded by happiness. In Manila, people have celebrations for two months, November and December. During this time, the Filipinos visit their relatives and give gifts. I also received some presents. Mother Mary visited Elizabeth and helped her. To do something beautiful for others is the good spirit. In many ways this spirit can flow in our daily life. We can pray for others, encourage others, say good things to others, and finally prepare our heart for Jesus.

I wish you a good time and much blessing.

Bible word John 1.1-18

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it. There came a man who was sent from God; his name was John. He came as a witness to testify concerning that light, so that through him all men might believe. He himself was not the light; he came only as a witness to the light. The true light that gives light to every man was coming into the world. He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognise him. He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God- children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband's will, but born of God. The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. John testifies concerning him. He cries out, saying, This was he of whom I said, 'He who comes after me has surpassed me because he was before me.' From the fulness of his grace we have all received one blessing after another. For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. No-one has ever seen God, but God the One and Only, who is at the Father's side, has made him known.

Reflection:

My dear brothers and sisters,
“Christmas is eternal like the love that gave it birth
Like the love that touches others as it reaches round the earth”

May the peace and joy of the season wrap your spirit in holy splendor at Christmas and through the New Year.

With love and prayers.
